Dr. Alina Ishtiaq
Dr Alina Ishtiaq is a board certified Therapeutic Optometrist/ Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Ishtiaq is a caring and dedicated optometrist who has always had a passion for helping others through medicine. Growing up, she was inspired by her father’s work as an ER doctor and the strong, trusting relationships he built with his patients. That same compassion and commitment to care is what drives her approach today. Dr. Ishtiaq is passionate about connecting with her patients, understanding their needs, and providing thorough, personalized eye care that helps them see and feel their best.
After completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Houston, Dr. Ishtiaq began working at Kingwood Medical Center, where she explored various areas of the medical field. During this time, she had the opportunity to shadow optometrists and quickly discovered her passion for optometry, a profession that allowed her to practice medicine, make a meaningful impact, and find genuine joy in helping others.
Dr. Ishtiaq completed her clinical training with honors at several respected institutions, including Woolfson Eye Institute, The Illinois Eye Institute, and the Tallahassee VA. There, she gained extensive experience diagnosing and managing glaucoma and other retinal conditions, as well as providing pre- and post-operative care for refractive surgery patients.
She also trained at McCormick Vision Source, a private practice in Austin, where she developed expertise in fitting specialty contact lenses and managing anterior segment disease. Her comprehensive clinical background includes primary eye care, ocular disease, contact lenses, dry eye treatment, and pediatric eye care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Ishtiaq enjoys spending time with her family especially her nieces and nephews as well as exploring new restaurants, discovering new places, and traveling.
Dr. Alina Ishtiaq provides comprehensive eye care services with a focus on preventive eye health, vision correction, and the management of ocular diseases. As a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist, she offers expert diagnosis and treatment for conditions such as glaucoma, dry eyes, diabetic eye disease, and other vision disorders.
With a strong foundation in biology and psychology from the University of Houston and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Dr. Ishtiaq combines advanced clinical skills with a patient-centered approach to ensure every patient receives personalized, compassionate care.
