About David Dinh, O. D.

Dr. David Dinh earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology with a minor in Biology from the University of Houston, graduating with honors, before obtaining his Doctorate in Optometry at the same institution. He completed externship training at Memorial Eye Center, where he specialized in fitting scleral contact lenses, and at Heights Eye Clinic, where he gained extensive experience managing glaucoma and diabetic eye disease, often conducting exams in Spanish. Dr. Dinh also volunteered with See to Succeed, providing free eye care for underserved schoolchildren in Houston. Following his doctorate, he pursued a residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, managing advanced corneal conditions such as keratoconus, ectasias, neurotrophic keratitis, and corneal grafts, as well as post-operative care for LASIK and cataract patients.

Dr. Dinh is highly skilled in fitting specialty contact lenses, including scleral, orthokeratology, hybrid, multifocal, gas permeable, painted scleral lenses, and prosthetics for disfigured eyes. He also specializes in myopia control and dry eye management. Passionate about education, he regularly presents at major conferences such as the Global Specialty Lens Symposium, the American Academy of Optometry, and the International Conference of Scleral Lenses. Fluent in English and Vietnamese, and proficient in Spanish for eye exams, Dr. Dinh brings both technical expertise and cultural accessibility to his patients. Outside of his clinical work, he enjoys working out, traveling to Asia, meeting new people, and spending time with his family, friends, and pet cat, Oreo.
